Our approach uses research informed knowledge from several psychological frameworks including attachment theory, trauma informed neurobiology, family systems, developmental theories and the neurodiversity paradigm. Our assessments are guided by current National diagnostic guidelines, and we are trained in the use of a range of psychological assessments and therapies.
CORE VALUES
Our core values are connection, collaboration and contribution.
With a neuro-affirming and comprehensive approach, we focus on understanding the whole individual. We believe that effective psychological assessment goes beyond standardised testing; it involves building meaningful connections and exploring the diverse ways in which children and adolescents experience the world. We work closely with family members and other professionals involved with a child. We highly recommend a multi-disciplinary approach to assessment where possible.
We draw inspiration from the delicate Royal Bluebell Flower, a powerful symbol that resonates deeply with our mission and core values. The Bluebell represents humility, gratitude, constancy, and joy - qualities that guide our work as we support children, adolescents and families.
Humility is at the core of our practice. We approach each child with respect and openness, recognising that their experiences and perspectives are unique. This creates a safe space where young individuals feel valued and heard, allowing them to share their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. By fostering an attitude of gratitude, we promote resilience by encouraging children to recognise their own strengths and the positive aspects of their lives.
Just as the Royal Bluebell blooms consistently each season, we strive for constancy and connection in providing quality psychological services. We recognise the importance of safety and stability in children and young people's lives as being integral to their wellbeing.
The vibrant blue of the Bluebell symbolises joy. We create an environment where children can openly explore their emotions and experiences. By integrating playful and creative expression into our sessions, we aim to make the assessment and therapeutic process both positive and enriching.
